Which Motorway?
Driving through France to Languedoc Roussillon in the south of France is a dream after struggline along British motorways. Generally, they're a lot less congested - but you'll pay quite a lot in motorway tolls to use them.
There are three main routes down to Languedoc -shown on the map. We'd recommend the 2nd, middle route, as it takes you across the stunning new Millau Bridge (right). If you're interested, you can stop off at the bridge's visitors centre - which shows how it was built.

If you're looking for a place to stay on your way down to Languedoc Rousillon, we'd recommend the and chains.
They're cheap, pretty cheerful, and Campanile have their own relatively decent restaurants.
