By avoiding a 'pastiche' design - the domain's homes offer more light and space
The architects commissioned to create the houses at the Domaine de Lavagnac decided to take a more contemporary approach to the design.
They felt strongly that a more 'pastiche' design of 'Provençal' homes, with arches and terra cotta roofs, would lead to darker houses with less sense of space. Their more modern designs employ huge amounts of heat-resistant glass to let in as much light as possible (making the most of Languedoc's 300 days of sunshine) and as few inside walls as possible. The result is an incredible sense of space and light - whatever the time of year.
Despite this more contemporary approach - traditional materials have been used, such as Mediterranean oak and limestone - to help the houses integrate well into their natural environment.
The homes will be built to the very highest of standards - with every modern convenience you can think of built in as standard. The larger houses will have their own pools and large gardens, whereas the smaller properties will come with large outside terraces and smaller gardens - with access to a pool in the communal 'hamlet'.
