Otherwise known as "la Venise Gardoise" because of the canal that flows in its midst, Goudargues dates from the X1 century when monks built an abbey and canalised the spring water, second largest constant spring in France. It is now a typical Provencal village with a weekly market, a good choice of shops and all medical services. There are several agreable restaurants along the canal in the shade of the century old plane trees and it is always possible to join in the game of pétanque played on the village sqare....
