La Roque is a sensitively restored old winemaker's house on the banks of the River Orb, in the Languedoc, South of France. Swim from your own private river beach, laze in a hammock or picnic at the river’s edge. A short walk across a fine old medieval bridge brings you to a relaxed cafe-restaurant-bar and the quiet village of Vieussan.

Vieussan is located in the unspoilt gorges of the Orb valley, surrounded by mountains and breathtaking scenery. Beautiful walking and birdwatching country; Kayaking, Tennis, Canyoning, Climbing, Horse riding, Fishing, Biking, Donkley rides all close by. Yet you are only one hour from Mediterranean beaches, the A9 and A75 motorways, and Beziers airport (Montpellier, Carcassonne and Perpignan airports also within 90 minutes). Free WiFi is included.

A flight of stone steps from the living room's café doors leads you to the walled garden. The sheltered top terrace has a table for eating out in the shade of cherry and fig trees (help yourself to fruit in season) and a barbecue. Down two more terraces is your own private river beach. Bathe or swim in the sun in the gently flowing waters, then lie in a hammock or deckchair in the shade. For lunch, your picnic table is in the dappled shade of old trees. We even provide a picnic rucksack containing plates, glasses and cutlery!

Your holiday home is the entire ground floor of a recently century-old winemaker's house:

• A spacious and bright living room with comfortable lounge and dining areas.
• A modern fully equipped kitchen area with fridge, hob, oven with grill, all cooking utensils, dishwasher.
• Washing machine
• 3 double bedrooms, 1 with double bed, 2 with twin beds; cot available on request.
• Modern bathroom with open shower area.

Bedroom 1 - 1 Large (European) Double Bed
Bedroom 2 - 2 Single Bed
Bedroom 3 - 2 Single Bed

All the bedrooms have been recently renovated with smart terracotta tiled floors and white walls. Bedroom 1, the former stable, retains the drinking trough (useful for putting your cases on!), old wooden doors and one original stone wall.
