In the department of the Gard you are truly spoilt for things to do, for all ages. A day trip to the Pont du Gard, will also allow you to take in the stunningly beautiful town of Uzes (Saturday's market day is not to be missed.) You can return via the Haribo sweet factory and museum for the kids. A visit to Nimes can include the Jardin des Fontaines, the Carre d'Art and Maison Carre. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from for a rest. Avignon is not to be missed. Maybe a trip on a boat for lunch? Definitely don't miss the Pont d'Avignon. and the Palais des Papes. Montpellier is a beautiful pedestrianised city - fabulous architecture and lovely little backstreet shopping easy access to the city with the tram park & ride system. Fancy something more thrilling? there are lots of places to try some kayaking on the river Gardon. You'll find some lovely river beaches along there too. All things for kids to do can be found here. There are just too many beaches to name them all. Boucoiran is a lovely little community situated just North of Nimes and near to the bustling town of Ales.
