WELCOME AND HAPPY POSTING!
Welcome to our Languedoc Living Forum. We hope that you will find this section of the website useful and that you soon become an avid poster! Here are some helpful tips to get your started.
How to post a topic or message in the forum:
1. Within each of the sections is a list of the forums, click on one of the forums (e.g. Living in France).
2. You should now see a screen with a list of "Topics" (with the most recent topics at the top). Who started the topic, the number of replies, number of views and who posted the last reply.
3. If you would like to add a NEW topic, click on the "Add a Topic" button at the top left and you can then compile a message.
How to reply to a message.
There are two ways to reply to an existing message.
1. If you would like to add a reply to a current topic go into the topic that you would like to reply to and click on the "Reply" button and you can then compile a message. Your reply will appear at the end of the other replies.
2. If you would like to ‘quote’ a previous reply click the blue "Quote" button next to their reply and this will quote their message and it will take you through to compile a message.
If you have posted a topic or reply you can edit it AFTER you have posted by clicking the Edit button next to your post/reply. With replies you will also have the option of deleting it.
Compiling a message:
Subject: Enter the subject of your post here (this line will already be filled if you are replying to a post)
Message: Enter your message here. If you are quoting within a reply the quote will show up within 'Quote' tags and can be edited if you want to only quote part of their message.
Click "Post" - to put your post live.
Preview – you can check the look of your post before posting it onto the forum.

Uploading from your own computer to this forum is not permitted due to security but you can link to pictures/images that are currently on the web.
If you have a photo on your computer that you wish to show on this forum and it isn't currently on the web, you could open an account with an Image Hosting company which in most cases is free (such as or ). You can set up a username and password and upload images from your computer to their site so you can share them with other people on the web, these websites are easy to use with step-by-step instructions, but remember that your pictures will be in the public domain.
When you have uploaded an image onto their site, take note of the unique link given to each image (this is given when you upload an image) as you will need to use this.
When posting/replying add the unique link they gave you using the 'Img' button to add the required code to your post.
What's the difference between Email and Private Messaging (PM)?
Email will reveal your email address to the user and send them an email.?Private Messaging stores a message on our site that the user can see when they check their private messages.
Can I subscribe to threads - and then how do I unsubscribe??Yes - by default you should get a notification when a new message has been approved in any thread you post in.
