Pepieux has been a thriving village since the 12th century and its fortified ramparts and watch towers can still be seen today. The church is a historic monument and local legend has it that its predecessor was burnt down by the Black Prince!

The village is large enough to have some shops and a post office but small enough to retain a real village atmosphere.

Le Vieux Relais is the old coaching inn situated on the edge of the village square right next door to the church.
