The house is heated by efficient electric wall-mounted heaters, it is quick to heat up in the winter and is naturally cool in the summer. Although small, the terrace becomes an integral part of the living space during the summer months (and beyond) with room enough for a few friends to gather.
We have lived here full-time since 2003: we had the electrical and plumbing installations renewed in January 2004, by local artisans. The house is well-maintained and decorated.
The village (pop.2000+) has a well-stocked supermarket, 2 bakers, a tabac, bar, pharmacy, post office, bank, beauty salon, 2 hairdressers, dentist, medical centre (with 4 doctors),notaire, a nursery and primary school and an excellent restaurant. A mobile fresh fish van visits the village twice a week. There is also a leisure/community centre, an open-air pool and 2 tennis courts.
The neighbours are very friendly and helpful. Altogether, a truly French experience.
