The lively village of Montpeyroux, with it's romantic, ruined chateau, highly regarded wine and weekly Thursday morning market is the perfect base for exploring the region. The baker, grocer and butcher are all a short walk from the front door. The market town of Gignac, 7 kms, has all services and shops and a Saturday morning market which is one of the best in the area. The cool, inviting river Herault provides an excellent swimming spot 5 kms away, with a natural, pebbly beach and canoe hire. Lake Salagou is a 20 minute drive, Mediterranean beaches 35 minutes.

Situated within the grounds of a wine growers property the house has been completely restored and renovated in the local style by its French owner an opera singer now living in London. There is a separate entrance to the property from the street with independent access to the house. The large front garden is planted with ancient olive trees and shady pines. Exposed beams, stonework and an ancient stone sink are all original features that contribute to the charm of this country home. The sunny south facing, flower filled courtyard is completely private, with it?s fish-pond and fountain it's a perfect spot for sunbathing and outdoor meals. Parking is off the street just outside the walls of the property.
The entrance to the house is via a short flight of stone stairs into the kitchen/dining room. The small well planned kitchen includes a gas oven with hob and washing machine. The dining area has comfortable arm chairs, table and chairs. There is a modern bathroom off a lobby area with bath, fixed overhead shower, sink and toilet. The double bedroom leads off from the dining area and is furnished with an antique cupboard and chest of drawers.
Through the bedroom a flight of stairs leads down to the magnificent large, vaulted, split level bright living room, which offers a welcome refuge from the heat of the day during the summer months. French windows open to the courtyard on one side and a huge room width semicircular window overlooks the front garden on the other.
