Perpignan is a beautiful, vibrant city with narrow streets and alleyways to explore. It is coloured by its Catalan culture and heritage and its many and varied markets, shops, bars and restaurants offer something for everyone. There's plenty of historical and cultural interest on offer.
Away from the city, some of the most beautiful beaches in the South of France are just 10 to 20 minutes away, and there are French and Andorran ski resorts a short drive away as well.
The region is very famous for its wine (eg Corbieres, Fitou, Minervois) and also its history of religious persecution, with many mediaeval castles to explore, so there's plenty to keep you occupied!
Public transport services are excellent and inexpensive.
