The Pyrenees Orientales is in the Languedoc-Roussillon area in south west France which borders Spain and the Mediterranean. Its position means it has a temperate climate, with very mild winters and hot dry summers with temperatures reaching between 85 ° and 95° between July and September. Set in spectacular countryside with the Mediterranean to the east, Catalonia to the south and Andorra to the west, the Pyrenees Orientales borders are formed by mountain peaks. As this is such a lush region it comes as no surprise that agriculture features heavily with wine and liqueur wines such as Rivesaltes and Banyuls being the biggest boost to the economy of the area. Perpignan is the capital of the Pyrenees-Orientales department of the south of France. All the beaches around Perpignan are excellent, offering acres of sand in Argeles-sur-Mer or the rocky coastline at Collioure which is a small beach town virtually undiscovered by tourists, where you can dive along a special underwater trail.

Collioure is an old and typical village where Picasso, Derain, Matisse lived and painted. You are right in the middle of Collioure, where cars are not allowed (car park 100 m. away).A lot of typical cafes and restaurant, shops.
3 beaches close to the apartment, a little and nice harbour. All possibiliies of watersports.
Sea, mountains, wine, spain is a few miles away (border 15 minutes, Figueras 30', Girona 50', Barcelona 1hour and a half), golf course 15'.
Perpignan airport is at 30 km.
Situated in a very peaceful area of Collioure, where brids sing and flowers bloom. Great walking into the hills from the apartment and easy access to the beaches and restaurants. The nearest beach is 2 minutes walk, in a small cove.
