Superb, child friendly beaches within a 5 minute drive, all with waterside restaurants and cafés. Horse-riding school nearby Béziers (15 minutes), historic town and capital of wine producing and rugby. Perhaps the best flower market in the whole of the south on Fridays in the beautiful tree-lined main boulevard. Canal du Midi which links the Atlantic with the Mediterranean, miles of flat walks along the shady tow-paths. A choice of boat excursions can be taken. Cap d’Agde (25 minutes) has further beaches and water sports, boat trips, beautiful harbour, golf, casino, fashionable shopping, nightclubs, waterfront restaurants, several children’s theme parks and a fabulous water park (Aqualand). Carcassonne castle is well worth a visit, especially on jousting days! Roque Haute - outskirts of Portiragnes. Superb botanical reserve. Golf courses nearby at Béziers and Cap d'Agde. Bassin de Thau - a calm inland sea teeming with fish. A breeding place for oysters and shellfish, producing over half the oysters consumed in France. Villages, such as Bouzigues and Meze, have many restaurants serving sumptuous platters of fresh shellfish. Roquebrun (called "Little Nice") with its Mediterranean garden with over 400 species of trees, plants and flowers. Pézenas - City of Molière with an exceptional architectural heritage. Numerous arts and crafts artists with workshops open to the public. Large market every Saturday. Spain - an hour's drive to the border and 3 hours to Barcelona.

The 2 storey villa is situated in an established residential area in the centre of Portiragnes village, just a short distance from the village centre where you will find a small supermarket, shops selling local produce, a couple of bars and restaurants and a pizzeria.

The house has 3 double bedrooms (one double bed and two twin beds) and has 2 bathrooms, 1 family bathroom with bath & shower over, basin and WC and one ensuite shower room with basin and WC.

The lounge is light and airy and is equipped with TV (French and English programmes), DVD and CD players.Seating for 6. Patio doors lead out onto the terrace.

The village benefits from a favourable location amidst vineyards along the Canal du Midi (World Heritage Site), ideal for cool evening walks. The region is ideal for walking, cycling and bird-watching.

It is an ideal centre for touring the region, experiencing the peace and calm of village life, spending your days on the beach or visiting many inland tourist sites.

The village has a 12th century church, post office, medical centre, a few shops, a local market every Sunday from 8am – 1pm, a restaurant and several local wine producers. A real life all the year round and tucked away in the heart of the village.

In Portiragnes village, you get the best of both worlds, an authentic French village atmosphere (wine-tasting, pétanque, colourful traditions), yet a 5 minute drive Portiragnes Plage, one of the most unspoilt beaches in the Western Mediterranean with a wonderful sandy beach and safe bathing. There are numerous restaurants and bars here and various beach activities.
