The village of Agel is located in the region of Minervois between the Aude and the Herault Departments. The Capital city of this region is Olonzac. The picturesque market on Tuesdays is very busy and charming. Many villages organise local fetes in July and August. The atmosphere is something to remember. From the Mediterranean to the Pyrenees, the Aude Cathar Country possesses a large variety of landscapes and prestigious sites. Spectacular sites to be enjoyed : the authentic Cathar castles, the Romanesque abbeys and cloisters, or enjoy watching the pink flamingos flight over seaside lagoons. The medieval walled town of Carcassonne lies on the right bank of the River Aude and is featured on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. It has 52 towers and 2 rings of town walls making a total of 3 km of battlements. There is no restriction on access to this area of Carcassonne. The City is still home today to its population of approximately 120 and it offers a large variety of cafes, restaurants and shops. Birds of the City At a distance of 800 metres from the Cité, on the commune of Pech Mary, see the flight of the world's largest birds of prey. The Aude Cathar Country : numerous authentic Cathar castles, Carcassonne, Queribus...
