The medieval town of Pézenas has long been a haven for artists and is a wonderful example of a real, working typical Languedoc town. Discover the old Jewish quarter of the village in a maze of winding streets and the many artisan shops selling handcrafted wares.

With its excellent choice of restaurant and pavement cafés, festivals, concerts and cultural events and, the famous, traditional market which invades the streets every Saturday, it is not to be missed!

This is a perfect base for simply lazing by the pool or on the beach, or for exploring the riches of the surrounding area.

The university city of Montpellier, the fortified city of Carcassonne, the famous Pont-du-Gard in Avignon with its incredible Papal Palace and unusual half-bridge, or just meandering through the endless vineyards and many medieval villages of this region sampling the wonderful wine, fresh produce, fish and oysters.

Spain, Andorra and the Pyrenees are within easy reach and the area is surrounded with the vineyards of the Hérault.
