Horse-riding school 2 minutes from the villa. Nature reserve of Roque Haute with pink flamingos! Béziers for a myriad of pavement cafés and restaurants along the tree-lined boulevard and amazing flower market on Fridays throughout the year. Cathedral with spectacular views, 4 day street party (Féria) in August not to be missed! Kayaking, canoeing, freshwater river and lake swimming, walking and trekking in the outstanding Languedoc National Park. Hundreds of vineyards where you can taste and purchase the local wines. Great seafood restaurants at Mèze, Bouzigues (famous worldwide for its oysters), and Sète in the lovely harbour. Day trips to Provence (Avignon, Arles, the Camargue) or down to the Spanish border. Several good golf courses are within easy reach. At Vias Plage, there is a funfair open during July and August. The beautiful tree-lined Canal du Midi is only a short walk/cycle rid away. Cap d’Agde (25 minutes) has further beaches and water sports, boat trips, beautiful harbour, golf, casino, fashionable shopping, nightclubs, waterfront restaurants, several children’s theme parks and a fabulous water park (Aqualand). Canal du Midi which links the Atlantic with the Mediterranean, miles of flat walks along the shady tow-paths. Carcassonne castle is well worth a visit, especially on jousting days! Monasteries and castles abound in the area and there are plenty of vineyards where you can taste some of the best wines in France.

‘Le Moulin de la Mer’ is a brand new residence with traditional Languedoc style villas and a large shared swimming pool for residents only.
Ideally located within walking distance (approx 10 mins) from the centre of the thriving little village of Portiragnes, this is an ideal base to discover this beautiful part of France.
Portiragnes has all amenities – bakeries, butchers, a small supermarket, 2 café-bars, 2 restaurants, a pizzeria, newsagents, chemist, bank, post office, local wine outlet etc. There are several hypermarkets within a 10 minute drive.
Portiragnes village is situated 5kms from the beach and is on the beautiful Canal du Midi, 10 minutes from the historic city of Béziers. There are markets in the village most days in the summer.
This attractive villa, comfortably furnished with 2 bedrooms, both with double beds and ceiling fans, open plan lounge with kitchenette, shower room and WC, and superb south-facing terrace with large table and chairs and BBQ for alfresco dining.

A short walk from the beach are shops selling the usual souvenirs, cafés and restaurants. Other good beaches can be found at Valras, Vias and Cap d’Agde, all with watersports.
