The area around Beziers is an excellent one for looking for property for sale. Drive away from the coast, towards the Black Mountains, and you get into the vineyards of the St Chinian and Faugeres areas. If you're looking for property for sale in Beziers, France, then we think this area is your best bet. The countryside is beautiful, and the beach is only 30 minutes away. There are some really charming villages here too - look for property for sale in Cessenon-sur-Orb, Murveille-les-Beziers, Capestang, Magalas and St Chinean. All are nice villages - with enough life to keep you from getting too bored. Stay clear of the towns between Beziers and the foothills - this is commuter-belt country, and the towns are less charming and the countryside flat and boring. These include Villeneuve, Maurassan, Maureillan and Cazouls.
Property for sale in Beziers, near the coast is more expensive. The terrain here is flatter and far more built-up. You'll find lots of holiday apartments along the coast itself - which can be pretty ugly in places. Stay clear of Valras - it's just a cheap holiday town. Instead, head for Vendres, Serignan, Portiragnes and Agde.
If you're interested in property for sale in Beziers itself, be careful. The town hasn't the best reputation in France, as it has a lot of poor immigrants. The very centre of the town is quite nice, with winding cobbled streets and lots of shops. Not too many nice restaurants, however.
Prices for houses for sale in Beziers are rising very fast - especially in the centre of town. In fact, this is one of the fastest growing property markets in France - probably due to the fact that property for sale has been quite cheap (due to Beziers' reputation) and rumours of cheap flights opening up at Bezier's tiny airport.
