One of the most beautiful villages in the region between Beziers and the Black Mountains. Nestled in the foothills and surrounded by vineyards, Cessenon-sur-Orb benefits from superb, undulating scenery and it's location on the river Orb - a wide, shallow river with sparklingly clear water (thanks to its stoney bed).

A mediaeval tower watches over the village, with old concentric streets radiating out below it.

The village is very lively - with quite a few shops, two supermarkets, and two restaurants - one run by an English couple. The other, 'Europe', offers outdoor meals under large Plain trees, overlooking the village square.

Cessenon is a working village - with most of its inhabitants involved in the production of wine.

A weekly market on Saturdays offers excellent fresh fruit and vegetables, local cheese and saussages, and many other items. The village's butcher is also highly recommended.

St Chinean is 10 minutes away, Beziers is 20, Pezenas 40 and Montpellier 60. Bezier's beaches are 45 minutes drive. A mini farm and zoo is just outside the village, as are opportunities for hiking and fishing (trout and many other types...). Canoeing is available at Roquebrun (10 mins) and Reals (5 mins), and the village's wine cellars are also worth a visit.
