French current affairs magazine l’Expansion recently published a table of property prices for more than 250 towns and cities the length and breadth of the country. To make it easy to see what good value Languedoc real estate represents compared to some of its pricier neighbours in Provence and other parts of the country, we’ve pulled out the relevant figures and popped them into a table.
We’re not suggesting for a moment that Nîmes is the same as Nice, or that Montpellier is as ritzy as Mandalieu… but you can see that for considerably less money, you can get a lot more bricks and mortar in a similarly Mediterranean climate and landscape.
All prices quotes are taken from www.seloger.com and are for resale property (i.e. not new build) at December 2007
