GO SHOPPING FOR LANGUEDOC PROPERTY – IN LONDON
THE FRANCE SHOW 2008

One date that’s always in the Crème de Languedoc diary is the three-day French property show at London’s Olympia show hall, held every year in January. Previously known as Vive La France and The French Property News Show (a bit of a mouthful), it has now been reinvented as The France Show 2008 – a much snappier name for what is the UK’s largest celebration of French property, culture, food and travel.
With five main themed areas, the show gives Francophiles the chance to indulge and explore their passions, hobbies or interests. It also gives French property market observers like the Crème de Languedoc crew an insight into who’s selling what, where, and for how much. There’s a dedicated property section that we always visit, talking to some of the 200-odd agents and finding out what’s new and interesting, particularly with regard to Languedoc property sales.

THE PROPERTY SECTION

Since France’s property market has always experienced good growth and never suffered a crash, it remains a top destination for UK house-hunters. If you’re looking to buy great property at accessible prices in a country that offers an excellent quality of life, look no further – France is where it’s at.

For visitors who need advice on any aspect of their move to France, from initial enquiries with estate agents to hiring a removals company, The France Show Property Zone caters for pretty much every need. For the 2008 show, the Property Zone will feature over 150 specialists, including financial advisers, banks, currency specialists, property finders, solicitors, builders and surveyors; the estate agents in attendance will include new-build developers as well as buy-to-let, leaseback and investment specialists from all over France.

A series of property seminars will also be given at The France Show, on subjects such as Buying Property in France, Living in France (health and taxation) and Investment in France. Each seminar will be given by experts in their fields who possess in-depth knowledge of French property.

WINE AND TRAVEL SECTIONS

It’s not just about property – there’s a Wine Theatre where you can meet the vineyard owners exhibiting their produce, or check out the Travel and Tourism Seminars to discuss your holiday and travel plans with all the main operators. Test your French at the Language Theatre, go shopping for French food and wine in the French Market, and stroll around the mini-Montmartre area, with free entertainment by musicians, artists, street theatre performers and dancers. If you don’t know France well, the France Show will shed light on why more than 10 million Britons cross the Channel every year.
