French Language & etiquette courses in Languedoc, south France

 

For anyone visiting France and the Languedoc, it is important to have at least a basic understanding of French language and etiquette. There are courses offered for people at all levels, from beginners to the more advanced.

 

One of the best ways to learn French is by what they call 'immersion' which is where you are in the situation where you must converse in French constantly. It may be uncomfortable and tiring but it is the quickest way to get a good feeling for the language. There are some intense 2 week French courses which offer you this experience.

 

Alternatively, you could join a French language exchange group which is often set up with locals who want to learn each others language. There are many French-English language groups around the region. Sessions usually consist of a 50/50 ratio, where half of the time is spent speaking in one language and the other half the other.

 

In addition to the language, it is also important to understand French customs and etiquette in order to avoid 'faux pas', there are courses that can help you with this as well.
