Whether it’s mountain or sea you cannot fail to be captivated by the beauty of the Aude region, its charm, its mystery, its food and its wine. Here you will discover a world that time appears to have passed by, sleepy villages, ruined fortresses, the Black Mountain to the north and the Pyrenees to the south and the Mediterranean to the east. What other place can offer you so much? If you walk, cycle, paint, play golf or have a passion to explore the many vineyards and taste the difference between Corbiere, Minervois, Fitou or Cabardes then you will find all you want here.
Our gite`is situated in the small town of Trebes some 5kms from the acclaimed Unesco World Heritage site of la Cite` Carcassonne and only 0.5kms from the Canal de Midi also a world heritage site. Trebes dates back to Roman times and has the river Aude and the Canal du Midi passing through it. It also boasts a small harbour for the many pleasure craft that sail up and down the Canal du Midi. Trebes has all the facilities that self-catering requires restaurants, bars, three supermarkets together with a myriad of local shops.
Why not come and take that first trip and stay in our comfortable self-catering `Gite` for that special holiday and begin to see why they call this area the `magical midi`.
The property was once a wine domaine and dates back several hundred years. Our gite, La Petite Maison, sits across the courtyard from the main house. We have an indoor swimming pool, which guests will have access to and also our private walled garden where you can relax and enjoy a glass of wine at the end of a day spent exploring the local area. Our house is really not suitable for children under 16 years. We have cats and a dog of our own and for this reason we do not accept other pets
The self-catering accommodation is tastefully furnished and consists of an open plan living/dining area with a fitted kitchen. Two double bedrooms (one with king-size bed) and large shower room and toilet. All rooms have heating and a log burning stove is the feature of the main living area. A television and DVD player together with a radio are provided.
